Practical support for families navigating systems and seeking support

The SEND system is complex, slow, and can feel impossible to navigate alone. Elizabeth provides clear, experienced guidance, grounded in 20 years inside education and her own experience as a parent of a neurodivergent child.

She can help you with:

  • EHC assessments and plans: Guidance through the assessment process, plan drafting, reviewing final plans, and challenging decisions that are inadequate or unlawful.
  • Mediation and SEND Tribunal: Reviewing documentation, preparing your position, and attending mediation or First-tier SEND Tribunal appeals with you.
  • School meetings and advocacy: Attending EHCP and annual reviews, helping you understand your rights, and advocating for reasonable adjustments, provision, and exam access.
  • Emotionally based school avoidance: Practical support including provision funded under 'Section 19',  EOTAS arrangements and bespoke packages.
  • Support at home: Personalised approaches to routines, communication, transitions, and reducing conflict and overwhelm at home.
  • Before and after diagnosis: Elizabeth works with families at every stage, before a diagnosis is in place, through the diagnostic process, and beyond it. Her focus is on navigating systems and securing provision, not on clinical assessment or diagnosis.

Initial enquiries are welcome by email at hello@elizabethswan.co.uk or via the Contact page on this website.

A note on scope: Elizabeth's work focuses on practical strategies and neuroinclusive environments - not clinical assessment or diagnosis. Where a holistic approach would benefit, she is experienced working alongside health professionals and other specialists.

Working Together

Clarity and Direction

If you are not sure where to start, or want to understand your situation clearly before committing to ongoing support, a Clarity and Direction session is the right first step.

This is a 90-minute online meeting in which Elizabeth will review your situation, answer your questions, and provide a short written action plan setting out your options and recommended next steps. It is a standalone session, not a commitment to ongoing work.
